The Wilson Circle is an organization designed to support the educational programs of the College of Humanities andR.E.Lee Wilson Hall on the Arkansas State University campus Social Sciences (HSS) and the College of Sciences and Mathematics (SCM) at Arkansas State University. Named in honor of the R.E. Lee Wilson family, whose support and involvement with ASU dates back to 1917, the Circle administers private gifts for the benefit of the two colleges. Working in conjunction with the ASU Alumni Association and the ASU Foundation, Inc., the Circle encourages the colleges' growth and reputation as leading educational centers in the United States.

As career opportunities continue to become more diverse, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Sciences and Mathematics must expand their programs to better prepare students in this complex environment. Members of the ASU Wilson Circle will help broaden the scope and content of these programs and will contribute to the overall enhancement of both colleges.

Membership

Membership is available to those willing to make a financial commitment to ensure the continued success of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences or the College of Sciences and Mathematics. Any alumna or alumnus of the colleges, organization, friend, private corporation, family or group may become a member of the Circle. Membership may be acquired in the following ways:

    Cash Gifts

Wilson Circle: Membership in the Wilson Circle requires a gift of $2,500, payable
either in a lump sum or in installments over a period not to exceed five years
($41.67 per month or $500 per year) to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences or the
        College of Sciences and Mathematics.
Wilson Circle Affiliate: An Affiliate level is provided for graduates of either
college whose date of graduation is not more than 10 years
from the date of application. Affiliate members make a gift of $1,000, payable either

    Transfer of Property

Membership may also be obtained through the transfer of ownership of real or
personal property that is determined to be valued at $2,500 or more. Examples
include, but are not limited to, outright gifts of stocks and bonds, artwork,
residential or commercial property, etc. Transfers of property without a readily
ascertainable fair market value may require an independent appraisal.

Sustaining Members of the Wilson Circle are those who, upon satisfaction
of their membership commitment, make a minimum monetary contribution of $500
to the Circle in a given year. Membership is on an annual basis.

Tax Deductibility of Gifts

Because gifts to the Wilson Circle will go to enhance the programs of HSS or SCM, they are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax adviser regarding your specific situation.

Designation of Gifts

The Wilson Circle provides flexibility, so you may designate your gifts. Circle members may choose to designate their gift for technology, faculty development, student services, scholarships or special projects within  HSS or SCM. A gift not designated will be for unrestricted use by the designated college to provide for needs not funded by the general operating budget. To read our privacy policy, click here.

Benefits of Membership

In order to recognize the generosity of each member of the Wilson Circle, each college will display the name of each member in its Gallery of Distinction. In addition, each member will receive annual giving credit in the Annual Fund program of the university and will have an opportunity to attend events designated exclusively for Circle members.

To ensure members are informed about the College of Humanities and Social Sciences or the College of Sciences and Mathematics, they will receive periodic publications. Members will also be invited to participate in the annual meeting of the Wilson Circle, an occasion when all members gather to learn of the progress and development of the college and other facets of the university.
